This position, commencing September 1, 2020 or mutually agreeable date, will appeal to a strong team player who is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anatomical or General Pathology or its equivalent, with a fellowship in Surgical or Oncologic Pathology with emphasis on women’s health, including breast and gynecologic pathology and who is eligible or licenced to practice medicine in Ontario. A fellowship or interest in Cytopathology is an asset. The candidate must have strong diagnostic skills in surgical pathology and will share in the rotations in surgical pathology and other specialities. Currently, the position is based at our Oshawa and/or Ajax-Pickering hospitals, however, the successful incumbent must also be willing to provide laboratory medicine services at other locations in Durham Region. The HSN department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine currently includes 11 pathologists and provides a broad range of services for the following laboratory sections: surgical pathology and cytology, hematopathology including flow cytometry, transfusion medicine, forensics, genomics, histology and immunohistochemistry, microbiology, chemistry.
