Lifelabs is currently looking for an experienced individual to join our MedSci team in Ontario. Reporting to the ON medical director and the discipline director for hematopathology. The successful candidate will have the skills and expertise to support the delivery of hematopathology services for LifeLabs
Advising on the functioning of the discipline and the work quality
Be involved in the day to day activities and work of the hematopathology division, including the areas of peripheral blood smear interpretation, flow cytometry .hemoglobinopathy and immunohematology
Be engaged in test performance and ongoing improvement .
Provide hematopathology expertise to Lifelabs for the discipline of hematopathology
Communicating effectively to MedSci, Quality and Regulatory affairs and Operations teams with respect to the ongoing day to day functioning of the hematopathology team
Supporting the quality endeavors of the hematopathology division.
The suitable candidate will possess an MD, or equivalent
Be qualified to practice medicine in the area of hematopathology and be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario
Preferably, registered as a specialist (FRCPC or equivalent)
Experience in areas of hematopathology peripheral blood smear interpretation, flow cytometry. hemoglobinopathy and immunohematology
Experience and expertise in evaluating tests and contributing to overall quality management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be able to communicate positively with all laboratory staff and leaders
