The OAP Conference is excited to announce that Dr. Jason Hornick will be offering a keynote on two topics: The most common spindle cell tumors of deep soft tissue: differential diagnosis and best markers and Metastatic carcinoma of unknown primary: diagnostic approach using immunohistochemistry. Dr. Hornick, MD, PhD, Professor of Pathology, Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital,
Department of Pathology. Dr. Jason Hornick received a BA from Amherst College and an MD/Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He trained as a resident in Anatomic Pathology and pursued subspecialty fellowships in soft tissue pathology and gastrointestinal pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he is now the Director of Surgical Pathology and Director of Immunohistochemistry. He is a Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and a consultant at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Hornick is Chair of the USCAP Education Committee, past Chair of the USCAP Abstract Review Board and Assignment Committee, and past Chair of the Immunohistochemistry Committee for the CAP. He was a member of the 2012 consensus and editorial working group for the WHO Classification of Tumors of Soft Tissue and Bone and a member of the Soft Tissue Sarcoma Expert Panel for the AJCC. Currently a member of the Sarcoma Analysis Working Group for The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), he also serves on the Test Development and Advisory Committee for Anatomic Pathology for the American Board of Pathology.
