Meet the Speakers

Dr. Mats Wolving is a surgical pathologist for 15 years, mainly in the field of GI Pathology. He always had an interest in digital pathology and its opportunities in terms of mobility, simplified logistics and decision support. After experiencing a 5+ years struggle with digitalization at his old workplace that never seemed to land in a functional working environment, he finally made the move to Linköping with its mature digital workflow in September 2019. Thanks to the digital workflow, it is possible for him to intermittently work from my home in Gothenburg (300 km away), while still maintaining contact with residents and co-workers.
Besides his clinical diagnostic work, Dr. Wolving has been involved in QA matters, chairing the Swedish Society of Pathology’s QA committee for a few years. He was also head of the pathology department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, between 2008 and 2013.
Dr. Kevin Sandeman has a background as a consultant in anaesthesiology and pathology. He concentrates within his translational PhD project on the multiparametrical diagnosis of prostate cancer with a specific interest for artificial intelligence solutions for detection, grading and subtyping of prostate cancer at the University of Helsinki. Dr. Sandeman works as Head of Department at the Pathology Department in Malmö, that is part of the Department of Laboratory Medicine in Region Skåne, Sweden. At the Pathology Department, multidisciplinary teams work towards a seamless workflow and information management with help of digital pathology.
Elin Kindberg earned her MSc and PhD at Linköping University, Sweden, with a focus on immune genetics in viral disease. After earning her PhD in 2010 she began working for Sectra where she started as a medical advisor. After this she has held multiple managing positions in the field of digital pathology and for three years she functions as global product manager for Sectra’s digital pathology solution. She has led the journey of moving pathology from research to a commercial solution within the company and has been involved in digitization projects in pathology in both Europe, Australia and the US.
David Boissonault joined Sectra in 2007. Since then, he has served as a PACS Applications Specialist, RIS Applications Specialist, Sales Support Engineer and currently as the Business Development Lead for Digital Pathology. David is well versed in Sectra’s Enterprise Imaging Platform and has been working with Sectra’s digital pathology solution since its introduction in the US in 2015.
